According to MCTA president Datuk Albert Tan, this is the perfect time to travel as there is a tax holiday with the abolishment of the GST.
"Malaysia has been granted a period of tax holiday with the government's decision to zero rate GST," he said.
"Travel packages are expected to be cheaper and consumers are in a jubilant mood, therefore this is the best time for consumers to book their travel packages and corporations to plan their incentive tours".
Tourism, Arts and Culture Deputy Minister Muhammad Bakhtiar Wan Chik who officiated the travel fair today said that travel is one of the most important industries in the country.
"It makes up 14.8% of our country's GDP," he said.
The fair is taking place at the Mid Valley Exhibition Centre and will end this Sunday.
